Luke meets his sponsors

Before jetting off to the other side of the world for a well-earned holiday, Lokeni Savelio had a meeting with his new sponsor John & Eric Mitchell.

The father and son have followed Town for many years, recently opening the SquadBuilder with a substantial donation.

They have chosen to sponsor Lokeni Savelio for the 2001/2 season.

Lokeni has very quickly became a favourite with the fans at Town for his hard running and the big tackles.

McGrady back in training

Steve McGrady returned to training this week. The centre has been out since March with an Achilles tendon and associated heel spur problem which has now been corrected by surgery.

The player resumed light training and had already put in a lot of work in the gym to put on some muscle bulk and to keep himself fit.

More surgery for Wilma

William Blackburn is to undergo more surgery to rebuild the knee damaged during the match against Hull KR.

Blackburn, 29, has already had two operations and faces a third next month which will rule out a return to action until the tail end of next season at the earliest.

The Egremont-based second rower had been in great form for the club and had forged a formidable partnership with Jamie Beaumont before the injury finished his season prematurely.
