McGrady out for the season
Centre Steve McGrady will be out for the rest of the season after it was announced that he needs surgery to remove a painful protruding piece of bone on his heel. The player is expected to be sidelined for up to two months.
McGrady said "I've had it since I was born but with training so much it has got bigger over the last few months and is pulling my Achilles. I can't play any contact sports and swimming is all I will be able to do."
The surgery is scheduled for this Friday and the Steve is expected to be in plaster for two weeks.
The loss of Steve is a big blow to the team, but with the addition of recent signing to the squad Town now have strength in depth and players are competing for places.
Gary Murdock had been expecting a good second half of the season from Steve and was expecting to see the best from the player when the ground improved.
Steve has pledged to return next season and reckons Town are set to make a big impact this season.
