Praise for fantastic support
Town's travelling band of supporters won acclaim from club officials after the 29 - 20 win at Swinton.
Gary Murdock and Wilf Harrison were quick to praise the fans who had made the trip to Bury.
Murdock, delighted at the way his team had bounced back from Wednesday's 70 - 0 mauling at Leigh, knew the importance of the fans' backing.
"It was terrific for them to go and give such vocal support on the back of that hammering against Leigh. They were all terrific and their efforts were much appreciated by the players," said Murdock.
Harrison added "All the players said afterwards that it was almost like being at home. The 50-odd supporters from Workington easily outshouted the 500 from Swinton."
"After the players had eaten their after-match meal in the clubhouse and were going out to the coach, our supporters gave them standing ovation. It was like the old days of the Premiership and league double when we had such a great rapport between the fans and team."
