Hair today, gone tomorrow

On Sunday after the Castleford Lock Lane game several of the players took part in an event to raise funds for this seasons club charity the Cumbria Cerebral Palsy Society.

These players had been sponsored to get their heads shaved. Town players, officials and supporters had been raising sponsorship for this event for several weeks and the original date of January 14th had to be rearranged after the Chorley match was cancelled due to a frozen pitch.

The players involved were Jamie Beaumont, Carl Sice, Kevin Hetherington, Graeme Lewthwaite, Lee Smith, Mathew Tunstall and Craig Barker. These are all 1st team players that very kindly volunteered for the event some time ago.

The event was held in the Derwent Lounge and club chairman Geoff Tubman made the mistake of getting on the stage to host the event. He was to pay a high price for taking on this role. Geoff paid with his hair. More..
