Fata Sini misses trip to Widnes

Fata Sini has been ruled out for Widnes match after picking up a muscle injury in the win over Whitehaven.

The winger was checked over by the doctor immediately after the game and ruled out of the trip to the Auto Quest.

Gary Murdock said "He should really have come off at half-time but he played on and I'm only pleased that the injury is not as bad as it might have been."

Murdock was expected to name an unchanged side for the match against the Vikings as he felt everyone had contributed in the 31 - 10 over Haven.

"We lost three players beforehand with flu and I said then when one door closes, another one opens for someone else. It's always up to the players to take the chance when it comes."

"I expect that Leigh Smith and Kevin Hetherington will be recovered enough to have a run out in the A team, although Jamie Beaumont seems to be still struggling," said the coach.

Stoddart to make debut.

Former Whitehaven and Carlisle stand off Stephen Stoddart will make his debut for the club in the Alliance match against Rochdale at Derwent Park today (6th Jan).

"Stephen should come into the reckoning soon for a first team place.

"Although he joined us three or four weeks ago, he hasn't been to enough training sessions to warrant selection until now," said Murdock.

The Alliance squad will also include Leigh Smith and Kevin Hetherington who are both returning to action after missing the recent derby match as well as derby match substitutes Owen Williamson and Jamie Nixon.
